Roger Doiron is founding director of Kitchen Gardeners International, a network of people taking a hands-on approach to re-localizing the global food supply. Doiron is an advocate for new policies, technologies, investments, and fresh thinking about the role of gardens. His successful petition to replant a kitchen garden at the White House attracted broad international recognition. He is also a writer, photographer, and public speaker.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

he never said he saved $2200 per year... he said he saved $2200. Those are two different statement. Learn to listen.

I'm 22 years old and I saw this a year ago, and now we have a flourishing garden of vegetables. I convinced my parents to grow a vegetable garden and we get the food that we eat in our backyard. Thanks for the inspiration.

In Northern Minnesota we have a much shorter growing season but it still makes sense to me to grow a garden on my 60 foot lot ( that includes the space my house is on.) And I am on the side of a hill - Duluth. Despite the challenges I have had quite a bit of food from my garden. It all got washed out last year during the flood, but I still got some. This year I am going to put in some swales to help keep the moisture in the garden and reduce runoff.

what's weird is, when he went into the demographics of the "garden movement"... I was blown away. I ONLY know male gardners.

Why not a garden stimulus package??? Cause we're broke... and the illegal gardens are because of Agenda 21!! learn it - fight it!

Nice Bush bashing... it was actually Biden who said we can get out of debt by spending more... Keynesian economics don't work. Sorry.
