i must try coconut milk. i have used buttermilk and that is really nice. but what i do is use some of my kefirized milk. in other words what i get from the cows milk and the grains and use it as an innoculant for other things. it works well. i have even did a test using milk and using it to start the new batch. and up to generation 26 now.so even without the grain this batch is still going.

Do you use waterfefir grains or milkkefir grains?

You can use stainless steel - it does not harm the grains.
