It is a little like a religion. In a sense, religion is only a set of beliefs given a name, so as such we're all religious no matter what we believe. And you've got a few religions without deities, and a few more without holy books/temples.
It's actually quite an interesting idea...

Atheism isn't a religion, but I agree, it would be fun if we could act like they do. Anyway, arguments why atheism isn't a religion:
1. No place of worship (church, gurdwara, mosque)
2. No book of stories (bible, torah, guru granth sahib)
3. No teachers (priest, rabbi, monk)
4. No symbols/holidays/traditions (christmas, turban, barmitzvah)
5. No supernatural beliefs (god, heaven, walking on water)
Now for a finishing joke.
Jesus can walk on water, but Chuck Norris can swim through land.

Sorry, I just needed to insult somebody today.

1: Do not have any Gods, PERIOD.
2: Do not worship anything, because it won't help you.
3: Prayer is stupid, don't do it. you're wasting your beath for something that won't respond to you because it doesn't exist.
4: Feel free to take anyone's God(s)'s name(s)in vain, because nothing will happen except for a few impolite stares and lectures about how you're SINNING.
5: Don't go crazy and start hating all religious people because they believe in a god and you don't.
What would be the others?

how about every gets tax exemption!

I agree with averagehomosapien. No organization should get tax exemption because someone could lie and say they're christian and get tax exemption!

I mean, what if "God" was the subject of processes that brought about its existence like life on earth was subject to processes that brought about its existence? Tell me what you think, my thoughts are way too in depth to post on youtube. Maybe I'll write a book.

what I mean is not how religion goes into detail about how god interacts with people, but the possible, perhaps probable existence of a "thing" that created the universe, wich could vaguely(at least) fit into the category of being a "God"? If there was nothing in the universe, nothing could exist, no matter what scientists say. The universe didn't exist in the form it is in today, what if there were multiple universes that collided and created an intellegent being by mere chance?
Dawkins has talked about getting atheism religious status so that we can get tax exemptions too. I usually agree with the professor, but I don't agree with him here. What really needs to be done is separation of church and state: NO organization, be it religious or atheist, should be tax exempt unless it can PROVE it's a boon to our society.

Really? Where has Dawkins said that?
