@mwredit Actually, you have it backwardsll The chorus & melody are borrowed frm Rach; middle piano part is Eric's composition. He wrote it first & wanted to "bookend" it with something from his fav composer; also hoping a new generation would pick up on the beauty of classical music. He thought the Rach music was in the public doman, but when he learned it was not, he settled with Rach's estate who share in the royalties. Its a shame most people never got to hear that piano solo; not on single

It's cool how this song was written around a Rachmaninoff tune. Starts off as a pop song and then breaks into full-on Rachmaninoff, then back to pop. They dont do anything like that anymore!
