This is a short documentary about Literacy Fun for Families. Sue Anderson, an OISE researcher and teacher, leads the workshop and provides the main interview. Literacy Fun for Families is a program for the parents, caregivers and teachers of preschool children. Created in partnership between the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education of the University of Toronto (OISE/UT), TVOKids and TVOParents, TVO hopes to empower parents with the tools to help their children learn how to love reading, writing and math. TVO held a summer Literacy Camp and is working to share it with more families around the province and online at TVOParents. This program will help develop literacy and numeracy skills in children aged three to five years old. The workshops cover topics like: oral language, reading, thinking about words, environmental print, writing and math.
