When you cut the cards the odd number of times the cards will be in the same position. And if you deal the cards in 4 piles it's obvious that the cards will all be the same in each pile..

i already learnt this - its not hard and its not much of a trick unless you have to explain how it happened. you have four piles A, K, Q, J. all must be in the same order then place each pile on top of the other. Cut the pile and odd number of times (more than once e.g. 3, 5, 7, 9 etc.) then do what he did :)
