A revolution is occurring in health care delivery and it revolves around $4 prescriptions for generic drugs at big-box stores. But thats just the first step. In the not too distant future, some stores plan to offer simple diagnostics such as blood pressure and cholesterol readings, as well physician services. Customers, who have higher than normal diagnostic readings, will be directed to an in-store physician, who can write a prescription for a generic drug to alleviate the problem, which can then be filled at the in-house pharmacy. The revolutionary aspect of this plan is that it doesn't require patients to have medical insurance prescription drug coverage in order to have prescriptions filled for $4.
