Adam Gussows lessons are the best. I've learned so much from them, it's really unbelievable. This video is of me playing the Satan and Adam song "Unlucky in Love" from the album "Living on the River". Adam teaches you how to play part of this song in his 5th YouTube lesson. I'm basically trying to play what he played in that lesson. I learned it by listening really hard while slowing the track down in MediaPlayer and playing along with it. I also cheated a very little bit by putting a line out from my computer to my little chromatic tuner (a very helpful thing to do).
Thanks a million Adam!!!!

  • Nice Job Isaac, Is your tab for this available anywhere yet? I would be interested in buying it if it were for sale somewhere. I don't yet have the equipment (or skills?) you mentioned to break it down myself.

  • Hey thanks man! I haven't actually tried playing this song in over a year now. I bet I could do a bit more justice. I have the tab lying around somewhere. It's just handwritten. I can scan it and e-mail it to you if you like. Send me a personal message via YouTube mail and give me an e-mail address where I can send it...

    Cheers,

    Isaac

  • Sweet tone!

  • Thanks john! I really Appreciate it!

  • ???

  • Good playing but it sounds like just a little too much reverb or delay

  • good stuff mate. What amp are you using? it sounds sexy

  • Oh yeah, I forgot to mention one really important thing. In order to get the sound just right, you HAVE to "snore" when drawing that split! Make a sound just like you are about to hock a gigantic lugi! That's where 80% of the nastiness of that note comes from!

  • Hi Luke, I think you are probably refering to the "Honk" that comes after the long, sustained note on the 4draw? The note that sounds really nasty? That is a 2-5 split draw (tongue blocked)! It took me a while to figure it out... You go from that long 4draw (which warbles a bit to the 5 in the middle) to a short 1-4 draw octave, then you just HONK that 2-5 draw! It sounds GREAT when you get it! Hope that helps! Good luck!

  • Hi there Isaac, great stuff there. Whats that bit you play at the beginning of the third bar. I cant get that bit right and you and your tuner hold the secret to that honk. Cheers man. Luke
