The opening song on the 1984 tour as it passed through Montreal, Canada. From my 2nd generation master, the video is slightly out of focus but the sound is surprisingly good. If there was any question as to the popularity of Van Halen at this point in their career, just listen to the crowd when Dave jumps off the drum riser. Enjoy!

UPDATE *****

The 1984 North American Tour started on 1/18/84 in Jacksonville, Florida, and ended on 7/16/84 in Dallas, TX, at Reunion Arena. This Montreal date, 4/19/84, it was not the last show of the tour.

After North America, VH then played 5 shows in Europe, the 8/18/84 Castle Donnington show was the first. A bootleg shows absolutely no interaction between Ed and Dave. VH's last show with David Lee Roth was on 9/2/84 in Nuremburg, Germany.

Yo!

  • Saw this tour in Jersey, 6th row. The great piece of live performance Ive ever seen. there's nothing better than Roth era Van Halen. PERIOD.

  • I miss when humans use to operate the spot lights. Those little imperfections made it feel exciting and real.

  • Got tickets to see VAN HALEN at the garden!!!! I am like, so psyched right now I can't wait!!!!!! Even if the reunion was with Sammy i'd still be psyched cuz I'm a REAL Van Halen fan who loves both Sammy and Dave!!!!

  • Just purchased front row tickets to see the mighty Van Halen's return to Montreal at the Bell Center on March 15. See ya front row, Eddie!

  • I was at this show in DC. One thing Ive always wondered. Were all of those speakers turned on in the back? Or was it just used as a prop? I lost my hearing for about three days after seeing this show -- I swear I could feel wind from pumping from either the drums or speakers -- I was like in the 5th row... any thoughts?

  • ANYONE who "dislikes" this video is a FAG !

  • @gladiatorfilm AMEN BROTHA!! nobody, and I DO MEAN NOOOOOOOOOOO-BODY can even come CLOSE to touching DLR as Van-Halen's Frontman!!!! HE WAS..........................PURE HEART and SOUL,"PARTY-BOY-ROCK-N-ROLL" of the 80's!! PERIOD!!

  • Not to beat a dead horse but listen to this and you can't deny Michael Anthony's impact with the background vocals. It is a big part of the VAN HALEN SOUND!

  • As someone has already said, DLR VH is not only about the music, it's about the showmanship and brashness! I never cared for Sammy as singer and to me their best music was with DLR as frontman.

  • coolest band on the planet by far.

  • van halens probley my favorite band

  • 6 people dislike this? Sammy must of had his whole family vote on this.
