Green Mountain Coffee and Sustainable Harvest work closely with the cooperatives in Nicaragua from whom they by specialty quality coffee. Each year, the cooperatives participate in an event to learn more about coffee quality and how they can continue to improve their product. It's an important opportunity for everyone in the supply chain to talk face to face about their quality expectations, which lays the foundation for long-term business relationships. And that adds up to a more sustainable livelihood for the Nicaraguan farmers.
