There are some real pearls of wisdom in this lovely film and some very charming dialog as well. I love classic films for their clever dialog....why don't people talk to one another like this any more?

This is a great video! One of the other great quotes from this movie that I always remember is from Elwood. Dr. Chumley declares, "This sister of yours is at the bottom of a conspiracy against you." Instead of becoming angry, Elwood solemnly replies, "My sister did all that in one afternoon. That Veta certainly is a whirlwind, isn't she?" Elwood express loving admiration instead of "righteous indignation." I wish I could emulate this.

I have purchased this movie on dvd several times and I treasure it. Especially the quote, "In this world, you must be oh so smart, or oh so pleasant. Well, for years I was smart. I recommend pleasant. You may quote me." I concur. I still want a giant pookah friend to call my own, though. lol And maybe, the pookah would say to me, "I prefer you, too."
