My son threw my Uniden BCD396XT in the toilet once... It ruined it and I had to send it off to be repaired. Perhaps if it was submersible that wouldn't have happened!

  • I have a VX-7R for 3 years now.

And It's a very good transceiver, especially because i had use it on hiking, on mountains. And at any kind of weather.

  • Cousteau would have loved this one. But who knows how to talk "bubbles"? I dont

  • es el mejor radio portátil q he tenido!!! lo único q creo q le hace falta es las bandas laterales SSB (usb y lsb) en el RX para ser perfecto!

  • It's my radio and it's the best !!! I'm very satisfied but i don't have the guts to try that

  • Good point.

  • lets face it most of us use it while hunting\hiking etc.

  • Its a great feature if you take your radio fishing with you like I do. As well as being in the military myself, its always good to kwno ti will work, no matter how deep you fell into the swamp while on patrol.

  • I have a VX-7RB

I don't see why Yaesu is pushing the "Submersible" feature. Let's face it, unless you are camping/hiking, why would you need a HT that you can place under water?

But a fine radio it is!

  • Great for S&R groups!
