  • @GoGoVengo That's a problem for COPS because they have to identify whether the person charging at them is merely in a state of panic or is trying to stab them. If you're just tring to shoot a man-sized target at 21 feet, 1.5 seconds is plenty of time if you've got a revolver or a round already chambered in a semi without the safety engaged.

  • @Wafflepudding of course that assumes that you let the shooter have the initiative. If you look up tueller drill, or 21 foot rule you will discover that a human can close the distance before a gunman can draw. and there is always stealth.

  • @ginjaninja1988 I own a .380 ACP Commander unmodded and I've never noticed any "time lag" at 4 feet, even with the factory trigger pull. In fact the bare minimum human reaction time is around 0.1 second, simple arithmetic proves a round moving at 1300 FPS would travel 130 feet in the time it biologically takes you to "notice" anything, Just let it go.

  • Lightsabers have physical feedback due to the gasses caused by the superheating and vapourization of whatever you are cutting through. I mean't tool as in regard to cutting through a bulkhead or other simple survival or mobility jobs...not as a tool for carving a statue or making a table.

  • @Wafflepudding If you were to be able to see a bullet it would travel roughly the visible speed. Bullets are not instant and the time between target is noticible even at close ranges. I have used handguns as close as 4 feet and you even notice the time lag. Blasters would be just as fast.

  • @ginjaninja1988 A lightsaber would make an even suckier tool than a weapon because it has no mass. Try to imagine using a tool without any physical feedback to cut something.

  • @ginjaninja1988 Simple 9mm FMJ - 1400 FPS (average). Man portable blaster bolt - slow enough that we can watch it travel between stormtrooper and Yoda less than 100 feet away.

You couldn't do that with a fricking .22LR tracer.

  • @Wafflepudding like a blaster on the hip. A lightsaber becomes a natural extension of the Jedi's body and force abilities and makes him a versatile and dangerous opponent. When Luke tried to rescue his freinds on Colud City with blaster look what happened. He got pinned down and you can see why Yoda partly said he wasn't ready; he didn't trust his ability in the force and resorted to his blaster. Yet in the ROJ see what happens when he rescues his freinds from Jabba with a Lightsaber...

  • @Wafflepudding destruction against armour, no interference from atmostpheric conditions and little relaoding and less weight in ammo. So blasters appear to be certainly superior to most projectile weapons. Now for lightsabers. The Jedi carry the lightsaber because it is so versatile and is such a small package. It can be used as a tool, to intimidate, to deflect, disarm, to kill or to maim. It is not obtrusive, can be hidden and when hidden away does not cause unrequired tension

  • @Wafflepudding not able to always deflect blasters and other weapons, they do die in combat. As for you reference to bullets traveling faster I am afraid they don't. I do alot of shooting (handgun, carbine, rifle etc) and bullets are not instant, you can actually notice the time between when you pull the trigger and the moment the hole appears on target. Also after watching the movies the blaster bolts appear to move just as fast as bullets but with the advantages of more
