I was inspired to make this video while listening to the song "For Freedom" by Avalon and looking through a series of photos a friend sent me of soldiers in Iraq. Coincidence that those two things happened at the same time? Who knows. I have over 2000 songs on my I-Pod and I have it on shuffle. But all in all, I decided to try to attempt my first video file, so here it is. Whether only a small handful of people will actually take time to watch, or thousands, I hope it will be an encouragement and a reminder to all who do take the time to watch. I hope it will remind us of the Freedom that isn't free, and remind us that we as Americans have a part in this as well. Whether you agree with war, or not, the fact is still there - those soldiers need our prayers and support daily. And my hope and prayer is that we would have faithful people in our Nation who will pray every day for all those who fight for our Freedom. So to those of you who can take the time after watching this video, I ask, would you just send up a prayer for our military? For our Country? Maybe have some kind of reminder to remind you daily to pray for them. Because, putting the duties side by side, praying is only a little to ask when many have given their lives...such a little request. Thank you to all who take the time to watch. God Bless! -Mary Huffman -----------------
Song Lyrics.
For Freedom
By Avalon
Somewhere a trumpet sounds in the night
A solider is standing there
It's calling him out to the stars and the stripes
It's calling him God knows where
He kisses the ones he loves goodbye and leaves in the dead of night
For freedom he'll heed the cal
Leave all he knows
And for freedom he'll stand and fight
And somewhere a man and wife can't believe they're waving their girl goodbye
For gone are the days of pigtails and curls and candlelight lullabies
If they had their way she'd stay young forever and never be far from home
But freedom has drawn her heart to dangers shore
And for freedom they'll let her go
And somewhere a thunderous crash in the night
It echoes all through the hills
Though many escape its wrath and its rage
A solider lies wounded still
Remembering the land he loves, he cries
I've loved you with all my might
For freedom said I'm her son whatever comes
And for freedom I'll say goodbye
And somewhere beneath the stars and the sky
Our flag is still standing there
She bled and she brough one land under God
Her colors still lead us there
She's carried the lives of those before us
She's buried the bold and brave
For freedom she holds our hompes and hands up high
And for freedom she'll ever wave
is the camo at 1:35 the ACU?

I believe it's the Desert Camouflage Uniform, but I could be wrong.

This has made me see things in a different light. Yes, one can say it's just a song & some pictures, but it's not just that. I'm considering the Infantry or the Marines. Even though I'm all heavy-metal, For freedom might become one of my favorite songs. It just says everything, you know? And it's Christian. Are you a Christian, Mary?

Thank you for your comment.
Yes, I am a Christian. And this song really does say it all, I agree. One of my all time favorite songs. :)
