Picky stuff, I know, but... The Lockheed (and later, Canadair) T-33 was never the "Thunderbird". ITs a "T-Bird", or "Silver Star" (Canandian). Thunderbird is the jet team from Nellis AFB. (and a car).
And the T-33 didn't really fly in combat -- its a Trainer (hence, "T-bird".) The P-80 actually flew in 1945 in Italy, WW II. Renamed the F-80, it flew in Korea. Single seat version, predecessor to the T-33 two seat trainer.
I've got about 2500 hrs in T-33s.
