I continue to think this is one of the best science-fiction movies of the late 70's/ early 80's. It deals heavily on story and suspense. Not quite Blade Runner or Mad Max, but a fine, fine film none the less.

I always thought the human implosion effects in this were pretty horrific and gruesome, seen twice in this preview.

@djhagler Agreed this sits on my shelf alongside Bladerunner, mad max, aliens etc, not better, but holds it's own, a personal favourite this, Connery though, is gold in almost everything.

i always wanted to do a remake/crossover of OUTLAND / SPACE 1999 ...instead of moonbase alpha blasted into the nether regions of space it would have been IO, and the con-am 27 colony ( mining town). have O'neil and Lazarus take the lead over keonig and russel.
