about 20 years ago .. I was asked by an Architect " Donald Gardner " to write a book about carpentry because of my ways to approach a problem " Real World " .. not the homeowners Ortho Books. .. I was filmed back in 96 ,, but I was stoned on weed and had to sign a waiver release .. Now with Youtube .. Do you make money ? .. tired of swinging a hammer and leading high school dropouts into the only trade where they can still have nose rings , hoops in thier ears and be stupid

@HouseImprovements The house I'm currently doing soffit repairs on has a 2 x 4 screwed to the house for a ledger board which has J-channel attached to it. Hope this helps.

You screw The J channel into wood with scres I noticed, however How should I fasten the J Channel to bricks that are already on the house?

@bigbadblue4u Basically you will need to use a small hammerdrill w/ a concrete bit and first hold the J channel in place and drill through it into the bricks. You can then insert plastic anchors (the same type of anchor you would use on drywall) and screw screws into them. The size of anchor depends on the size of screws you use. Be careful not to crack the bricks or rattle them loose. Sometimes anchoring into the mortar between the bricks works better. This job is a little tougher but is doable
