Black slaves were taught to hate them selves and love white folks. They depended on whites for food clothing and shelter, so they had to kiss up and accept being degraed; accept the life of a slave to survive slavery. White folks during this time did some horrible, brutal, abusive things to african slaves and american born slaves. Today in Richmond a lot of blacks have a slave mentality. why? because they are a product of their past.

Slaves were treated horribly; dogs were treated better. They scourged black folks, forced them to take european names,stripped them of their identity, broke up the families, expalins why today theirs no real black unity. They beat black slaves consistently to break them; made them to be like loyal dogs. They created house negores that were loyal and loved the slave master more then he loved himself. You see their are a lot of modern day house negroes in richmond today; they love white folks.

This disapoints me. I dont see any blacks but this one black guy handing out torches. Alot of blacks in richmond it seems dont know or want to know their history. They know they came from slaves but thats all they know or wanna know. Richmond was a major HUB for slavery; all the slaves from the Atlantic passge came to richmond. where they were broke; broke like u break a horse and auctioned off to the highest bidder. White folks in Richmond dont want blacks to know how bad slaves were treated.
