Mind the one minute gap in the beginning. I left it in for added video quality, because the recording did not export as clearly as I'd like.

Recording of the 6-screen "performance" of "Listen", played across six 20" Mac Pro G5 computers, synced manually with 1-3 frame lag between each screen. Enjoy.

  • awsome! is this from a 6 screen computer setup, or a tv with 6 screens

  • @shapeworkstudios1 It's actually 6 separate computers running a section of the full video, so it's six video files.

  • Also there a better methods to your madness.

Check out Modul 8 a VJ program for Macs and PC's, mainly for use with a projector, but multiple screens as well.

Gives you the option of trimming your projector image to the 3d object in front of it. So your cereal box could have a video playing perfectly on it. Or 36 mock computer screens that have just been cut with Modul 8, with a similar grid idea, using only one projector.. ??

  • The 36 screen video would be played on a pyramid-like setup of 36 televisions, older televisions on the bottom with newer ones on top, with it all being controlled by computers. The thing is, though, that I do not have the funds for it. This video was a school project, so my school gave me the materials on loan to show it on that night and made due with what I had. The video really doesn't do it justice, it looks far better live. The Modul 8 program looks very nice, but I don't have the cash.

  • cool man, well done. Please check out Expo '67 in Montreal, Canada, where they pushed the idea of mind expansion cinema, and multi screening to the absolute max! 3 screens, 6 screens, 9 screens in a 360degree cinema where a 1500 audience sat in the centre and watched the movie around them, 112 screens on revolving cubes, mirrored screens to infinity, water screens and dome screens!

I have just become obsessed by the idea and the fact you want to create an art piece means there is an intention!

  • I've read about the 360° demonstration but never seen any footage of it. I'll need to take a look at the other things, though, sounds really cool!

  • @euromedian718

No, 6 different video files that make one video

  • so 6 of the SAME video files? and each computer zoomed into a part of the video?

  • @SOAD2k8

with something like the Radeon 5870 eyefinity6 video card in your computer, you could literally have a 6 screen computer setup

  • oh ok
