Thank you so much, I've been wanting to get into this art form and started this weekend.I've been looking all over for a video like this, something that explains relief sculpting with gouges and chisels, not so much with a knife.I really needed this,your work is beautiful.Do you have something with what tool does what and when to use what tool for what type of detail? Again thanks so much,this is a big help to me.

First of all I think it is great that artists like yourself post free informative and visual techniques that people can make use of in their homes.I have many creative interests but finding the time and money to do most is always a problem especially when you want to earn money to give self and family things like holidays, home improvements etc. People like myself go through pains trying to achieve the right balance

Spirit uses several varieties of wood, but this is Basswood. Check out the first video for her discussion of the advantages/disadvantages of different kinds of wood.
