@bublitzable computer monitors and TVs are very different. If you are outputting to television, you should be editing with a broadcast monitor or HDTV. If you are only going to export to the web though, you may be fine with another computer monitor.

Why do you need an external monitor when you can just have an extended monitor and drag the view window the bigger screen??

@TMA5T3R I've done some research on the them. They only work on X58/P55 Motherboard. People with newer motherboard like me, go find something else. Matrox MX02 is good but expensive. Hauppauge 1212 HD-PVR is OK.

With an iMac, the options become a bit limited. Check out the MOTU V4 which connects via FireWire 800, the AJA IO, and the Matrox MXO2 which connects via DVI.

Whats your take on the Black magic shutter I'm confused whats the difference between the two considering their both sold at the same price of 199. I'm looking into purchasing one of the the two to record my ps3 gameplay but am not sure if using a laptop will work or do I need a full on desktop please help me out man

@TMA5T3R The devices both will perform the same function, the only difference is the connection to the computer. The Intensity Pro is a PCI-e card, whereas the Shuttle is a USB 3.0 device. So the Shuttle can work on either a laptop or a desktop. Make sure that your computer has USB 3.0 before going for the Shuttle - that is very cutting edge technology.

Somehow, I missed the reason why the source video doesn't show up in the viewer? Also, the Infinity product, it's a card that goes into your Mac Pro??? Thanks, Marius. P.S. Your store's up in Marysville, right? I'd like to come up there and see it.

In the video we're playing off the Timeline. Had we loaded the Clip into the Viewer, it would also appear and have the ability to Play out to the External Monitor.
