It transferred to the Piccadilly Theatre (just behind Piccadilly Circus lights) - not sure exactly when but I know it was there by 1989 when I saw it (at least twice).
Great to see a clip of this online. Brilliant show. Wish there were clips of Nobody Knows You when You're Down and Out (brilliant 4 part harmony), Take it Right Back to the Place where You Got it, Rough and Ready Man and the title track Blues in the Night. Oh well...

Hello, I knew Blues in the Night back in 1994, i found a tape in a store and I bought it.... I love the music and the voices..... (i was really looking for guitar and harp blues) a few years ago I searched for the cd, and found it in amazon.... today i was trying to imagine how the musical could have been... and thanks to this video i can have an idea. Thank you for share it

Lol, that was when I was born...I feel so young! Can't help feel sorry for the amazing miss Freidman though...she has had some terrible costumes over the years!

Thanks so much for putting this on. I saw this on stage. Wasn't at the Donmar, was when it transferred - was it the Lyric? Loved it. You don't have a copy of the whole show you'd be willing to sell, do you?

I'm puzzled by the title you've given this clip since the song she sings so well is NOT Blues in the Night at all but Takin' a Chance on Love. Also a great song. But not Blues in the Night.

I called it Blues in the Night because that was the title of this revue of blues and Jazz music that the Donmar Warehouse staged, it just so happens that yes this is her singing Taking a Chance on Love, but putting the title of show in the main thing, tis called Blues in the Night. Sorry for the misunderstanding

This video was taken from the video broadcast on the BBC from 1987/1988 live at the Donmar Warehouse. I got the clip along with a bunch of other stuff from England
