Dawn of Sorrow: Boss Guide - Dmitrii Blinov

A video walkthrough of each boss in Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow. Note: THERE IS SOUND. Just wait till Soma goes into the Boss Room.

Boss #3: Dmitrii the Mirror

Equipment:
Arms: Halberd, Breastplate, Traveler's Cape
Souls: Axe Armor, Flying Armor, Golem

Level: 18

Boss Difficulty: 4/10

Strategy: Dmitrii the Mirror can be a tough opponent, even with the strategy I used. Dmitrii can copy your Red and Blue souls, but im not sure if he can copy the Yellow ones. What I did was avoid using souls like Great Armor (blue souls) and concentrated on using a single Bullet soul (Red) to hit Dmitrii. The best two souls to use on Dmitrii would be Skeleton or Axe Armor, personally, Axe Armor is a better choice because you can also use it to hit him with ease. Basically, what you do is as soon as you enter the room, smack him with an Axe Armor shot, then work on him with the Halberd. I use the long range Halberd instead of my personal favorite weapon class, the Great Sword, because Dmitrii is more difficult to get away from if you go up to him with anything other than a Spear/Polearm class weapon. Anyway, play defense and backdash/run away whenever he pulls out an axe, and you should easily be able to avoid him. As you can see in the video, I was a bit unlucky and got mauled by his axes. Jump and throw axes at Dmitrii the whole match, you may even want some Mind Up's for this. Only Halberd when your sure that he isn't going to do anything fancy (like backdash and fire axes). Distance is the key to winning against Dmitrii. Note that if he backs you into a corner like he did to me in the first 20 seconds, the only choice you have if you gave him the Axe Armor soul is to slide directly through his body. Unfortunately, this often ends up with him using his short range knife, which is about the same in damage as an axe.

Dmitrii the Mirror's moves:
Short range Knife: Exactly what you'd think. A tiny little knife stabs you if you come too close, which is exactly why we're using the Axe Armor/Halberd strategy. It can be quite damaging, especially if you wait around for it to hit you twice. Counter by moving out of knife range.
Copy Red: He copies your bullet soul as soon as you use it. Counter by using a bullet soul you can easily avoid.
Copy Blue: Copies your blue soul, avoid using Great Armor or any other blue soul that could get you in trouble
Acrobatics: Acrobatics basically means that he can, unlike most opponents, backdash, dodge, jump, and go in unpredetermined paths. Just stick to the strategy and you should be fine.

I have been getting 1 stars for each of my Castlevania videos, and even some of my other videos. It is true I do mess up sometimes, other times I try to get hit to see the dmg values and to try different strategies to see what I can do against them and tell you. TAKE THE TIME TO READ THE DESCRIPTION to see the most effective ways to counter and dodge, and to beat the monster, before you rate. My fighting isn't that horrible, comment atleast

DO NOT USE THE ZOMBIE SOUL! IT WILL BE A PAIN WHEN HE starts using them, i prefer the skeleton soul

the yorick soul can do over 100 hp damage to him(if u kick the skull). He don't know how to kick the skull so you will take only about 20 to 30 damage

Why would you give Dimitrii an anti-air soul and then continue to jump at him? And why do you use a weapon that puts you at exactly the distance that Dimitrii's axe is going to fall?

Another good strategy is to basically use the Zombie bullet soul against him, and then hammer him with zombies. Be sure to dodge his as they cant be killed

Lol, this boss is ridiculous. Give him a crap ability or one which won't ever hit you and just keep hitting him. Easy as pie.
