Orthodox Jewish Law says that every seven years Jewish fields should remain fallow, a rule which gives Palestinian farmers in the West Bank a much needed economic boost.

  • The Zionists wanted a homeland within Palestine, but were not seeking to occupy the West Bank, Gaza or East Jerusalem. The Arabs within Israel were granted and still have full political rights.

  • I think you're confused. There are no curfews or harassments within Israel proper. The curfews are in the occuppied territories only, for security purposes. Who "owned" Palestine at the time of the Balfour Declaration? There was never, ever, EVER a Palestininian government.

  • Huh??? The Balfour declaration states as follows: "His Majesty's Government view with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people, and will use their best endeavours to facilitate the achievement of this object, it being clearly understood that nothing shall be done which may prejudice the civil and religious rights of existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine, or the rights and political status enjoyed by Jews in any other country".

  • The problems started when the ARABS started the war in 1948, which war had nothing to do with Israel stealing land and everything to do with the Arab feelings of humiliation by the fact of a Jewish country in the Middle East.

  • "The palestinian wont give you jews the land because it was them who lived there for more than 3000 years before you forced them out!" Actually, under the 1947 UN partition the portion allotted to the Jews was majority Jewish, and the Arabs within that portion had (and still have) full citizenship.

  • So we've gotten some honesty here. The root of the problem is not "oppression" or "occupation". The problem is Israel's very EXISTENCE, and the Arabs' refusal to let them. But sorry, Israel WILL CONTINUE TO EXIST AND ARAB TANTRUMS WILL NOT CHANGE THIS. KICK AND SCREAM ALL YOU WANT.

  • "What was being discussed and how were they being discussed at Camp David"???

    The Palestinians were offered 95% of the West Bank (with the remaining 5% being made up from the Sinai) all of East Jerusalem including the Temple Mount. The Palestinians rejected this offer WITHOUT ANY COUNTERDEMANDS. The Palestinians so far have shown no interest in a political solution. Stop blaming Israel.
