I find it hard to believe that his ancestors dealing with slavery made it so that he lashed out at a woman? From the pain his ancestors experienced? This is like passing the buck.
My ancestors were raped and murdered, their children kidnapped as treasures and young trophy wives and had their land stolen right from beneath their feet... this has had no impact on me personally. I did not experience their pain.
I'm sorry for responding so harshly, but I just felt the need to share my thoughts.

i won't condone men beating women no matter what age or what his circumstanaces he grew up under. real men don't bash women even if they provoke him... it gives rihanna no right to beat him up either, so they were both wrong but don't try to make chris come out the victim in this, he was just as guilty if not more. yes, he's just a young man and i hope he's learnt from this mistake. Let's love and respect each other and have no excuses. xx

Hundreds of years of degradation has been instilled in Black people, it will take hundreds of years to undo the damage that has been done.
