footage shows one of two Ghdairs, which started duty August 25th 2008 - bringing Iran's Ghdair fleet to 5 - and the start of a new production line of so called "Ghaem" subs, which will be in duty from 2010 or so

i suppose you have to start some where and midget subs will give your boat yards some experience,however these boats and the KILO's are not anywhere near the same league as the USS VIRGINIA class. These boats are designed to operate in the shallow waters of the gulf plus they have the very awesome advantage of electronic sensors the iranian navy can only dream of. It's not that Iranians are stupid they just have not been in this game as long as the USA.

Damn right I'm jealous. Just listen to the motor sound. Not every navy can have the technology to burn a combination of camel shit and garbage.
