Horse attacked by pit bulls in Mount Carmel

A Kingsport family was forced to put down one of their horses after it was attacked by roaming pit bulls at its stable in Mount Carmel. Video by Rain Smith, timesnews.net.

Two GSD's attack cattle: result, none died. Two pits attack: kill 3 steer. Horrific death. Ban breeding of pit bulls. Let them mercifully become extinct.

I have had three horse attacked by dogs. One very nearly died and required costly and extensive care to survive. She was attacked by three adult Golden Retrievers who had live next door to us for years. One gelding was killed by two Great Pyrenees and one was attacked by the same two dogs. ANY BREED can attack your livestock, can kill something, can harm people, can appear friendly and at some point "turn", ect. It is unfair to pick on the pit breed because someone is being ignorant.

Pitbulls are breed to kill stuff. Bottom line. It did what it's genetics told it to do.

I agree with AmigaFalcon, it's not the breed, it's the owners and to think otherwise is just sheer ignorance.

I was riding a horse of mine when a German Shepherd bit her several times, and finally ripped a huge portion of skin off her hind leg. No idea what set that dog off, but it ended my previous admiration of the breed. I gave my horse to a rescue place because the dog owner would not do anything to prevent a recurrence. Some people put dogs over anything, even their human family.

I think the breed should be slowly extinct. I have no wish for complete extermination of the Breed instantly, but I think the breed really shouldn't be allowed to continue to reproduce. Dogs are great friends and guardians, but really you can't fight what genes and generations of breeding embed in them.

that is sad,they should ban these kinds of dogs because there allways be irrisponsebel people with these dogs..im glad in my country there forbidden,to many dead children etc
