AMAZING GREEN MANOMETER INSPIRED DISPLACER CONTROLLED WATER PUMP

As soon I get some time I will post a sketch. THIS IS A HOMEMADE AIR POWERED POSITIVE DISPLACEMENT WATER PUMP MADE FROM EASY TO FIND OFF THE SHELF PVC COMPONENTS. AS LITTLE AS 5 TO 10 PSI AIR FROM A SMALL COMPRESSOR IS PUSHING DOWN DIRECTLY ON THE WATER INSIDE THE PUMP FOR THIS DEMO WITH NO ENERGY LOST TO MOVEMENT OF MECHANICAL COMPONENTS. THIS PUMP CAN PUMP AS HIGH AS AIR PRESSURE ALLOWS WITH JUST A FEW FEET SUBMERGENCE IN A WELL. IT CAN ALSO PUMP MUDDY WATER SLUDGE AND SEWAGE. THIS PUMP COULD ALSO BE DESIGNED TO DIRECTLY PRESSURIZE A WATER TANK OR LIFT WATER TO AN ELEVETED HOLDING TANK. JUST INCREASE THE PRESSURE TO INCREASE THE LIFT. THIS HIGHER PRESSURE AIR NEEDED FOR HIGHER LIFTS BECOMES THE ONLY OBSTACLE IN THE OPERATION OF THE AUTOMATIC CONTROL VALVE, BUT IF THE SIMPLE VALVE I BUILT (WHICH ISN'T SOLD ANYWHERE) COULD BE FACTORY MADE, THE PUMP WOULD BE VERY CHEAP RELIABLE AND WOULD NOT REQUIRE VERY MUCH TECHNOLOGY TO MAINTAIN. THE PUMP DOES NOT NEED DEEP SUBMERGENCE TO LIFT WATER, (JUST LET IT FLOAT ON TOP ON THE WATER COLUMN) THEREFORE IT WOULD BE EASIER TO PULL IT BACK UP THE WELL CASING FOR ANY MAINTENANCE. THE AIR CAN BE PROVIDED BY A WIND POWERED COMPRESSOR ESPECIALLY WHERE WINDS ARE NOT VERY STRONG OR CONSISTANT.

If you look at all the comments on this video you will notice that very few people are as sharp as you are. but every one is missing the point here. In remote places and third world countries Things that break down or which are difficult to reach without heavy equipment are difficult to repair. A small above ground compressor is easy to replace and get to to repair. A Well pump is not. This video is merely a challenge to everyone out there. It shows a way to get around some problems.

Interesting. How about some useful info - Drawings? Sketches? Plans? back-of-napkin doodle? anything... got any ideas for modifications so it could be driven it with very low pressure air?

What about the 3000watts my compressor uses? None the less, pretty cool anyhow, as for green, not really, to many startups ion the compressor. Build an Axial flow pump, with 250watts you can move around 300 to 500GPM in low head operation. I suppose with high head as you speak of here that might not work.

I guess in this situation it really depends on how often the compressor has to start (high load on start) and how long it runs for the amount of energy required to run it.

We made one that is 100ft down in a well. Its about 4ft tall and pumps just over 5gal per min. We used black drip hose(can hold 45psi) for our air line, 3in pvc, and black well line. Only cost $86 to make excluding air compressor. We also are going to add a windmill to pump compressor so we can be off the grid. So easy to make and doesn't need much air.
