An early summer thunderstorm in New York City includes multiple lightning strikes to the TV masts at both the Empire State Building & the World Trade Center. The 4 strikes seen in this clip occurred over a space of about 10 minutes, starting aprox 6:35PM EDT on 7/1/01. As recorded by WNBC-TV's rooftop camera at the very top of 30 Rockefeller Plaza. This puts it one level above the uppermost observation deck that is now part of the "Top of the Rock" attraction. (no audio available)
