these older machines do not have water heaters

One more hint, when you replace belts on a Maytag that has two belts, you always want to replace both of them and DO NOT adjust the pump to put more tension on the pump belt. If you do, the drive belt, which goes to the transmission will nor have the proper tension and will not spin fast enough.

How does it heat it's own water? Where is the heater located?

@area51london I never fixed my washing machine, I bought a new one, and I've subscribed to craig for over a year now, he has good videos.

@montez341 .......you were making fun of him....and i'm guessing your washing machine "was" fucked until this man helped you figure it out !....shame on you !

This is a SUDS SAVER model. That is what the two hoses are for out the back of the machine.
I was hoping you could've shown how you replaced the pump and it's belt. I need to do that with my Maytag washer. Do you have a video of you doing that? It's an A883, just like yours.

@badpatti01 No i dont, and i never did replace the pump although it looks easy. Just unbolt it, and reinstall with a socket wrench after the washer is tipped over. If your pump is leaking check the hose clamps first

craig, is there 2 drain hoses comimg from the back, or am I seeing that wrong?

Yes their is 2 hoses. One of them seems like a vent i think, and the other is a drain. The newer ones only have one.
