  • great recording - very very beautiful - only a wish by myself: could you reduce the "s" at the beginning or end of those phrases a little? They are not together always. And sometimes the chords seem to switch not simultaneously (e.g. measure 66 to 67). But those are only very small things of course!

  • this is one of my favorite pieces of music and is performed wonderfully here.

  • you sing this beautiful piece in an excellent way. The colours, the place, the armonic and elegants movements of your director and the perfect execution give a magic atmosphere to it. BRAVO!!

  • bravi bravi

  • Pelle d'oca...

  • totally impressed, very nice

  • @icalvo ... and if we want to try it out for ourselves, the music generator at tones.wolfram.com/generate/ supports it (click "pitch mapping')

  • The scale Verdi harmonizes is the so-called Enigmatic Scale which goes: C Db E F# G# A# B. It was a challenge of the Gazzeta Musicale with which Verdi entertained himself.

  • This piece IS in C but only the beginning and the end of each phrase...and the middle of each phrase. The magic of this composition is it chromatically goes up and down a (phyrigian?) mode making each step the new tonal center. Basically it changes keys every 4 beats up and down a H(alf)-W(hole)-W-W-H-W-W scale. And the Amen at the end continues down the scale do the 5 of C but still ending in C. Its a voice leading nightmare/puzzle or a great composers dream/homework.

  • .. je vous remercie de votre esprit cette
