i understand this. when I was a younger lesbian I thought that I would find love just like in the book, but love is hard to find. And sometimes when you find it you lose it again. The book makes it seem so easy.

Well, pretty much every single love story ever, *regardless* of char orientation, is disillusioning then when you look at it that way ;P And I would think it's not cuz the lonely years aren't being written about, but what editor / movie studio wants to make a film or release a book that is mostly or completely about being alone..? lol. If you did the research tho, this was the first of its kind specifically, to actually have a happy ending, and the writer did it to inspire hope.. hang in there!

Annie on My Mind is not about homosexuality as an adventure.. it's about finding one's self, as an adventure, and stating that homosexuality is just another element of who we are. And if you believe love is boring and depressing, I'm very sorry. The song would sound much better if the vocals and the music weren't so intertwined, and there was percussion...

I have to say I disagree with you on some level. I myself am a lesbian teenage and I have found great love. I'm IN great love right now. I know it can be hard, but it is possible. You may not like waiting to find great love (no matter your age), it's more than worth it. Like them, my girlfriend is my first and only great love.
