My grandfather crossed this bridge, Wayne Yelton, heavy machinegunner
My husband and I visited this bridge in 2005 with a WWII Memorial Tour. My father was an Engineer who died here on March 17, 1945 when the bridge collapsed. We also visited his grave in Luxembourg. I was only 19 months old when he was killed and so I never got to know him. I wish I had.

My folks have a house in Remagen and have a beautiful view of the river and it's a 10 minute walk from our house to the bridge. The local kids hang out at the bridge since there's no where else to hang in a small town.
