  • Oakville has, as you described, an unusually high income per capita. It has a paper that chooses to focus on positive community based stories. Other than that it's a suburban city like any other. Theft, murder, bored drug-using teens, every suburban city has these. What are you trying to prove?

I guess the video was for high school. It's well presented, but you prove nothing! I'd be very curious to see if you'd still think lowly of Oakville if you lived alone in many other cities around Ontario

  • We did not say we think lowly of Oakville. I feel as though you misinterpreted the video. Many people in Oakville believe it to be MUCH better then the rest of the world. We were simply saying that Oakville is not on a pedestal and is in fact the same as most other suburban towns.

  • Oakville may have an under lying drug problem with the high school kids and 5 adults but there is no city that doesn't. You also have picked out probaly the only 2 sketchy stores in Oakville to base your video on. As for the crime, Oakville does not try to hide it. If they did then it would not be published in the news paper. Oakville is by far the best town around Toronto to grow up and live in and there is no denying that. Just my 2 cents.

  • We reolize that there is no city that doesnt have a drug problem of some kind, and thank you because that is exactly what we were trying to prove. Not even the great Oakville is drug free even though most people try to act like it is. The crime really isnt published in the oakville beaver we had to surch sources like the toronto star and others to get any sort of crime related stories about Oakville.

  • this is somewhat interesting and well done and edited, however in the end you and i both know that oakville is not nearly as hard as you are attempting to depict it.that graham drug dealer guy was an idiot and a clown,im surprised he doesnt get robbed everyday. the other beef i have with this is the fact that you interviewed kids who say they smoke pot and drink on weekends while you show the video from requiem of heroin use.they didnt say they did hard drugs.i drink a lot too and i dont either.

  • hey! I love Oakville!

    it's freaking awesome!

  • the point of this film was really more for people who live within the community itself, to realize that there IS a lot more going on here than any of them would like to believe. oakville has its ups and downs but the downs are never reported, and the only way they become known is through word of mouth. i dare anyone to go through any of oakville's newspapers and try to find one trace of any actual news.

  • hell yeah ! i'm there riiight now :)

  • This video is interesting but you used the "requiem" drug effect too many times(the effect that they use in requiem of a dream when they take drugs. cool in the movie, over done in this), and as for what Oakville kids do, well I'd say about 80% of the kinds in my graduating class were druggies.

  • 1243ashf,

I liked you honest clear view of how you can see this futilistic attempt to bring down Oakville by this little mall muffin,

There will always be collectives of stoners who lack talent or ambition in general, Oakville has had its dirty past, and when going From A Biker Town, to one of the Richest communitys on earth took alot of hard work.

  • Oakville, i notice the selective editing as to they still dont have strip clubs,

And if you use lists of crimes and use your high powered perspective as to Crime, you will see that most crimes commited in Oakville the criminals are from other citys, So i loved the vid, but get a grip or better yet live in Dayton Ohio For 5 years.
