OH NO! The equals button broke because I pressed it too many times. What will I do, I don't know 300/6. Is TERC really what they teach in somplaces now. Man I feel sorry for those kids.
I can't believe they pressed the equals button 49 times.

You could pick 300 then the answer will be 1.

I find long division useful when the answer is not whole. You can find the whole decimal representation of the answer. Just because we have calculators it doesn't mean that we should use them.

And after over 15 years I still remember my 1-12 times tables and find them helpful.

The one thing I disagree with is with decimals thinking of them like money.

You should first ignore the decimal point:
9.9/0.003

make this 99/3=33

Now in division you subtract the amount of numbers after the decimal point in the denominator from the amount of numbers after the decimal point in the numerator and move the decimal point right this many times or left if it's negative.
3-1=2 So 9.9/0.003 = 3300

For multiplication you ignore the decimal then do the same but instead you add the amount of numbers after the decimal points together and move the decimal point left this many times. 0.7*0.67
7*67=469
1+2=3
So 0.7*6.7=0.469

That should be 0.7*0.67=0.469

Wow... Okay. 300/6 is 50. I could do that in my head when I was, like, 7.
