You talk about "Alpha to Selection" at around the 5:00 mark... at 5:08 you say that "Alpha is text." Although in this particular instance, the alpha was text, "Alpha" refers to the Alpha channel of the current layer. This is ANY portion of the layer which is not background. For instance, if you create a shape on a layer and "Alpha to Selection" the layer, the shape will be highlighted.
So, "Alpha" refers to a channel within the layer, not "text".
Still, an excellent tutorial.

You are using Ubuntu with Compiz, correct? What program did you use to create the screencast?

@strato172 I use GTK-Recordmydesktop and OpenShot Video Editor.
