Visited Denton, then the ranches in Texas as this is a fascinating part of the country's economy. At Edgewood Lanning Ranch (www.edgewoodlanning.com), we learned that most of the horses were in other places in the country, due to the lack of grass during the drought period in Texas, the worst in decades. The fields were very dry and yellow, indeed. Bill and Ann Lanning told us about the breeding, and about the story behind Mr Conclusion who is the father of great line of Quarter Horses, the sire himself being all-time leading in the American Quarter Horse Association. This was a very interesting visit!
