sitting in my bedroom on my own looking out across the council estate in east london where i grew up as a teenager, wanting to be loved, wanting to not be alone wanting to be popular, but realising and accepting my fate that i wasn't, being a daily joke to those at school, in my family, and where i grew up this is what kept me alive on those dark summer evenings, seeing the lights of homes in the distant and wishing i could of been with them instead of being imprisoned within concrete & clay
