IMPORTANT: The crank sensor input signal is the most important signal in a modern vehicle. Without it the engine will not start. The crank sensor measures crankshaft position and rate of change. The ECM then synchronizes this signal to the CAM sensor and determines injection pulse, timing, fuel delivery, idle speed and everything else needed to run the engine. Learn how this component works and how to test it. (note: We allow all schools and training institutions to use our software free of charge, so long as it is not sold to others.   • 0:37 That is one weird looking trace. Are you sure that trace came from a magnetic crank position sensor?

  • YES, i looks weird, but it is a magnetic sensor. If you look carefully it is a sine wave, which IDs it as a magnetic sensor. The reason why it weird in because it belongs to an older HONDA system, which produced that signal.
