  • what a beautiful rendition of this song... for me personally it was easier catching a few fish than saving the relationship. but honest to God, i really tried. some horrible things happen in spite of all the beauty surrounding us but we have to hold on to that beauty od all is lost... stand by and enjoy those peaceful waters but remember, they often run deep.

    thanks for sharing im4out :)

  • @MrBuckwilliam ......thank you for a super comment....

  • good music, transcends time and space, and age. no body gives a fck how old we are in the presence of a tune like this. shut up. and listen.

  • I am 15 years old and had never heard of John Prine, but one night my parents brought me to a concert of his, and now I love him! All of his songs are just beautiful, and he is an amazing story teller. This song is one of my favorites. I listen to him all the time now, and I am so glad I got to go to that concert. I will never forget it!

  • I was turned on to John in 1979, Prime Prine, loved it. I play guitar and for the last 30 years played most of the songs on that album. I'd never seen him perform but 2 years ago I had the chance and I took it. Knowing he was 30 years older I thought he may have lost a step or two....wrong. The man was amazing, he and Jason Wilber, played all of Prime Prine and closed with this song O-I-O-I-O I loved it. This was on of the best shows I've ever seen and I've seen a lot. Don't miss him.

  • He's in Waukegan tonight. Was in a bar just down the street from where he'll be and nobody in the bar knew who John Prine is. Closest anybody could come was "he's like Jimmy Buffett." Ah....yeah.....but really, ah.......No. Way. Way better.

  • Im still hear in twin lakes, love this song, soon i'll be in lake mary catching all those fish, in them peacefull waters.. GREAT place too live. yeahhhh babbyyyy...3/5/12

  • A beautiful song. The song structure is atypical of John Prine. His narratives or ruminations

are usually more straightforward. It reminds me of something from Van Morrison's Astral

Weeks. Great stuff. When he says "Oh Baby!" I can feel it like a punch in the gut.

  • Lead guitar player is Jason Wilbur and bass player is David Jacques both awesome players. I was lucky enough to see them all play together 9/17/11 in Butte Montana I hope they come back soon

  • I live here in twin lakes, thanks too my wounderfull wife geri.. how much better could it get? thanks baby for turning me on too all you do.... I love you so much... Pat..xxooo slamed up the banks of lake marie...love it....

  • Wow, almost every song performed at this show is about the best version you can find. A magical evening, I would have loved to attend.

  • The girl I love the most in this world turn me on 2 john prine she's gone but I can still listen to his music and think about her with a tear in my eye thank you Mr.price

  • I doubt highly my generation could fill John Prine's shoes. He stands alone.

  • Anyone know who he's playing with in this version? Especially the lead guitar?

  • I relate
