part 2 free dumb rave
vasco road livermore 4th of july 93 fire on the mountain.
dj's spun, tony, josh, garth, jeno & doran. visual show with 26 slide projectors 2 overheads and 2 16mm film projectors. the visuals crew was donovan, john mathews, lon & mike (pure), simon,
tess mirrley and alan & tony of synergy also did visuals that night although there work is not seen in this clip. this is unedited footage with poor sound but here it is. if the responce is worthy ill get a copy off the sound board & edit up the footage real nice. thanx to cindy for holding on to this all these years.

the laser starting the fire sounds good but no..., it was started by some one setting off a roman candle and it's embers landing on the dry grass. for a laser to start a fire (i've lit joints & cigarettes off the laser before) it takes the beam being completely still without any filters in front of it and around a minute or two of keeping the tip in the beam without moving AT ALL and carefully drawing on it not to much or it won't get hot enough just enough oxygen to get it going.

As I recall the laser started the fire. After they put it out it felt like we were all reborn again,lol. My friends and I sat in front of the huge speakers all night. We had a ringing in our ears for a few days afterwards. Good times....

@hikari94122 nope not the laser but illeagal fire works. we used to say it was the night that my brother (spun) set the hillside on fire with his music...

wow... I was reminiscing about that party... looked it up and it's here! I swear to god, I was one of those idiots up on the hill that helped put out that fire. I don't remember it looking that big but I DO remember having a big empty water bottle that I used to beat out the flames with some of the other guys up there. That was Spun's set that got interrupted right? Cheers for putting this one up!!

@djfur1 yeah it was my brothers set... we often reffer to this as the night jason set the hills on fire with his music.

I never thought id see this again.HOLLY SH*T!!!! I was there! someone let a firework in the air. mountain got on fire. then a truck with gallons of water tried to drive up the steep mountain. music stop for a while. someone on the mic said we might have to leave but then truck made it and put fire out and we kept on raving till the sun came out!! oh my god.

@emilio303 actually people stamped the fire out no truck with water came until long after the fire was put out... pretty amazing and stupidly brave! Go to the 19 year anniversary / reunion of the Gathering in SF Sat. Dec. 11 2010!!! Magic rarely seen will be with us for this one...

I was actually stunned, frozen...and I never thought to run up on that hill like the other partiers.

this fire was the best thing that ever happened to me. when it lit my friend and I decided to get the hell out of there. two girls asked if they could get in our car cause theirs was blocked in. we drove away and talked all night. took them back to their car after sunrise. the rest is history and nearly 20 years later we are still together. i proposed to her on this spot 7 years ago and we now have a 2 year old son. whoever the genius was that lit that firework, i love you & poster too. thanks!

WOW!!!! I cant believe I am seeing this!!!!! This was very best party for me!!!! IT will always be in my memories!!!! As someone said before, " damn the music was good then" SOO much energy!!!! they just dont make music like they used to. Anyways, just really stoked to see it again;) Anyone know if there was an audio recording of that night?
