Redd Volkart is the best picker in nashville. Just ask Brad Paisley...
He has an awesome pure country voice too. He has 10 times the talent as those little pretty boys who can't sing or play for shit!

Just got hold of Redd's video "TeleTwang" and it's packed with great licks and great stories.Luvin' It! By the way I have"sausage" fingers too but I still love playing myTele!

@barneycockburn no it's not at all. A great guitar and a great amp is all you need. The simplicity and quality of the set up does it. It's when you start mixing all kinds of stuff that lose that pure tone. There's nothing strange about simplicity and quality.
