Juice Newton 1st recorded this song, written by her longtime musical collaborator, Otha Young, on her band's eponymous 1975 debut album - Juice Newton & Silver Spur.
Six years later, after Juice had gone solo & embraced a more pop-friendly style, Newton took another crack at this ballad & brought it all the way to #1 on the country chart (and #7 on the Billboard Top 100.)

  • Thanks! :-) I used to do a lot of sound engineering & this is from a special edition re-mastered box set.

  • The sound on this is phenomenal!

  • 28 years ago my wife & I used this for our wedding. We had both come from marriages gone badly. I still get a kick out of setting this up as the next song to play in the car and then leaving it for her so it plays when she gets in.

  • thanks

  • Deeper, richer and still as lovely as the first time I heard it in 1981 working at a restaurant in Sherman Oaks as a 17-year-old.

  • Beautiful song, beautiful voice, and beautiful Juice! (6)10/29/11@1:52PM.

  • Makes me want to cry.

  • I grew up in the SF bay area and my father saw her play at a local club when I was about 11. He bought her album 'Juice Newton and the Sliver Spur' and played it heavily for years. When she made it big and re-did this song I loved it, but I always loved the original more. Thanks for posting this, I definitely love this "superior" version!
