Code can be found here: http://hyper-metrix.com/processing-js/docs/index.php?page=Motion%20Illusion

This is an animation I wrote in QBasic. Then I ported it to VisualBasic. I then saved out the individual frames, brought them into Virtual-Dub and exported them as an AVI. After this I created a trail, glow & radial blur-zoom effect in Adobe After Efects and saved it out.

The real resolution is 1024x1024 and will be used as a video-texture for my next animation.

  • Thats fucking cool man!!! send me the code i used to code in qbasic back in the 90's man now i'm getting back into it with Visual basic 2010 on visual studio pro 2010 learning visual basic first , and work my way up to C# and C++

i would love to have the code

  • Cool

Sure, send me the code =)

  • Lol what browser are you using

  • I clicked on the link and my computer froze and it exited out of all the windows so use caution!

  • Nice one.

    What a spin out.

  • Seems like 2 different "types" were used, x and y. If 2 types collide at the same spot, they reverse direction. Adding the fade seemed to hide that fact. Am I close? It looks very nice though, I would suggest adding some langston style code to some of them to make it seem less repeatable...or even just random static every so many frames.

  • code? You can't handle the code!

  • Can I have the code for this for Visual Basic? I'd like to try it out myself

  • Hey pretty cool man! Do you still have the code for QBASIC and if you do can you please send it to me?

  • may i have the code for Q basic and VB?
