So it took 12 minutes running two AA batteries to split the gases to run a fan for (what looked like) 6 minutes... Might as well put the batteries in the fan and let it run for 24+ minutes.

Great job but the ratio of gas your getting isn't what it should be from your cell ,you should have twice the H2 gas to one part O1.The little drycell for your hydrogen is mixing gas going to the hydrogen side a little more than it should ,this is typical for a dry cell method.The little energy electric cells seems to be working great and a good job with the whole project.Very impressive thanks for sharing.You need to more video with the gas production.

is it possable to use the liquid stages of both hydrogen and oxygen to generate the energy needed?

Nice demo. Curious as to the volt & amp output and I assume you are mixing the H2 with air to generate the electricty in the fuel cell. Keep up the good works - well done.

Imagine if this country would move forward with new tech instead of drilling. Jobs, environment, security, health would all be improved

@pauls0416 I dont use anything but salt water,,nothing else added, You would know if you seen the video, but dont worry about it, if you want to use electricity then by all means use it lol.

@stevensrd1 I wouldn't *want* to make hydrogen and oxygen withnout a power source! It's far cheaper to use electricity to split water than to use up drano and aluminum foil, or zinc and HCL, or whatever you're using. Actually, if you use solar power for electrolysis of water, then you're using *nothing* up at all to get hydrogen. :)

I'm not sure if anyone noticed (include you, Edmk2009) but the oxygen level was not half the hydrogen level. I know you said it's supposed to be "roughly" 2 to 1 but, in fact, it should actually be EXACTLY 2-1. The reason you saw far less oxygen being collected (vs. hydrogen) is that much of the oxygen was actually dissolving in the water. Oxygen is soluable in water, unlike hydrogen, which is insoluable in water. If the water was allowed to become very oxygenated, you'd see more of it collect.
Thank you for your insight. Yes, you are correct. The oxygen level was not measured with accuracy and precision. This experiment was put together in haste. I was not following a true scientific method. My apologies. I simply wanted to review and demonstrate the devices.

What is the electrolysis device made from? (The centre of it)

@101Revolution
current PEM fuel cells use platinum particles on porous carbon supports to catalyze both hydrogen oxidation and oxygen reduction.
