The section of the new 52nd Street SEPTA platform that extends out over 52nd Street is now open. This is the view south from the platform on a rainy day.

  • Good point. The extension is much longer than the train. But maybe they are planning to make the trains longer for the flood of people who are going to start riding SEPTA because of the pretty stations. What? It could happen!

  • But the kensington side of the EL constuction was completed before anticipation receiving civil engineering awards...

  • The market el is the fastest and most frequent way to get to center city from Delware County...But the issues since the 70s has always been ridership issues cause the el travels through high crime neighborhoods...So during the building of the new stucture cries of gentrification rang through cause it was taking longer than anticipatied to complete the project..Most of businesses along market street were brought and paid for..so it seems like they got starved out..

  • How the neighborhood fallen victim to gentrification?

  • i dont get the point of the extnedsion if the train is so big
