Catalin Botezatu's rich collection of fashion villainesses worked in meticulous sets of three. Each set built upon previous colors, themes, and fabrics used before, while climaxing in a fusion of the structure, pattern, and color that preceded it. All color choices showcase a bold pallet while still keeping in mind the structure of the piece, which shows prowess as a craftsman as well as a showman. The arms represent an important structural motif for Botezatu, as he highlights them even as they are sheathed in magnificently detailed garments. One set of particular note is the spider set, in which the dress goes from purple, to blue, to a mixture of black and white. All the while, the garments become less ethereal and more sophisticated, bringing more glamour to the spider detail as well as to the draping sleeves. The final garment in the set manages to work in detailing such as the half glove and black pom-poms seen in previous garments. Fashion Week award-wining Romanian designer Catalin Botezatu presented his latest collection of dramatic creations. The fashion show was held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 12, 2010 in the iconic Grand Ballroom at the world-famous Waldorf Astoria Hotel on New York's Park Avenue.

Catalin Botezatu is one of Romania's most important fashion designers. He launched his career in 1992 and established his own fashion house in 1996. He is one of the few major fashion designers who directs and styles his own shows and makes all his accessories. His distinguished clientele includes politicians, socialites, VIPs, entertainers and celebrities. Nevertheless, his beautiful haute couture designs have a strong appeal for every woman looking to bring out her femme fatale side through sensual, refined and sophisticated gowns.
