  • Tyson never lost a pro fight until he fired Rooney. nuff said.

  • From Mike Tyson's story, I've learned an important lesson about people:

Always surround yourself with positive, motivated people and remove anything negative in your life. Some people may intrude in your like (like don king type) and ruin something special for yourself, especially when it can be marketable

  • @ajsjugerhyete Don king fired Rooney

  • @tlig i wouldnt say zilch his son isnt doing too badly at all.

  • @sjewitt22 in a more recent intervirew rooney says, tyson hasn't called or visited him since he broke up with him. i find it really sad, because i think deep inside mike thanks rooney for his work but he thinks its too late because of ll the BS that happened

  • @tlig Or maybe the peek a boo/ d'amato style can only be mastered by special fighters like tyson. Cus, teddy atlas and rooney spent years teaching tyson that particular style which made him undefeatable. Once tyson left rooney, he lost his discipline and the style. With kevin rooney and minus don king piece of shit, he would've become the best fighter ever and broken rocky's record.

  • How could Tyson sack him? Rooney loved Mike!

  • Mike, why, why, why, ?? What were you thinking ?

  • Rooney achieved ZILCH once Tyson left him; that tells me he wasn't that good.

  • Tyson's very first fight after parting with kevin rooney was against frank bruno, which was the first fight were Tyson was noticeably rocked by a punch.

  • Of course 1/3 was an excessive cut. The real issue is that Rooney was key to training and preparing Mike - physically and psychologically. A smaller cut of a lot, is better than a large cut of a little. Imagine the prize money and sponsorship/adverts etc Tyson would have made in the 90s and 2000s if he had remained either invincible or at a very high level. As it turns out Rooney was worth the cut - 37-0 before the split with Rooney and after that Mike was less than mediocre
