This is the moment you all have been waiting for: the high-rise elevators at the W Hotel's residential apartments. These are absolutely AMAZING for ThyssenKrupp, a brand I don't care for at all. These travel at a speed around 1000-1200 FPM (1200 according to NYC Buildings), and this may be the Dover Buzz WORLD RECORD despite the express zone (I'll have to double check that). The Dover buzz is optional though, and is turned on by pressing the "S" (signal) button. It was rumored that these have security guards on them who act as operators, and I did think there were at first because when I first got on, there was a guard, but he actually got off on C (security offices). These things were covered in styrofoam because they were moving construction equipment in these. The lobby didn't have a security guard, and anyone could just walk in this weekend. The residential lobby is right next to the hotel entrance on the ground floor. These also had Dover/TK Vandal Resistant fixtures, which I don't think are very nice for a place like this, especially considering the hotel elevators have much nicer buttons. Still, I have to congratulate ThyssenKrupp and the W for installing some nice, fast elevators.
Were These Under Renovation, Or Not Finished Modernization. Nice Camera.

@CBMAwards actually it was a brand-new building, so it was still partially under construction

What is the Dover bizz
TheToddy30 5 months ago
@TheToddy30 the buzz heard as the floor passing chime. we call it the dover buzz since Dover Elevators first started using it before thyssen bought them out

sounds like an old school fire alarm buzz at 0:32 but 100x more annoying
