Phone call to Rumpke Company on 6/9/2011 to find out if they service Bowling Green Township, Licking County. Also wanted to find out if they put in a bid to be the exclusive hauler for the township. Near the end of the conversation, the representative claimed that they DID put a bid in and also indicated they WOULD pick up in Bowling Green Township. Story does NOT add up. In my opinion, the customer service at Rumpke was not very stellar on this inquiry. The answer to a few simple questions is still unclear. "Jack" took my name and number in the end to "call me back"? The Bowling Green Township Trustees and Fiscal Officer have not indicated that a bid package was sent to Rumpke nor did they report receiving a bid from them. ????????? The Trustees awarded the contract to the ONLY company they claim to have received a bid from. I have put a call into the Township Fiscal Officer asking for public record copies of the bid package, copies of letters sent to prospective bidders, and a copy of the ONE bid that was reported received and accepted.
If what Rumpke is saying were true, too bad they don't or can't prove they put in a bid. They could prove it if they wrote a check for the required $75,000.00$ bid submission demand. Neither of the people with Rumpke on this tape seem to know any facts. Fact sure seems that Township secretary only sent out one request for bid and got one bid back, AND IT WAS NOT RUMPKE!

Let me get this straight, Rumpke first said they can't service Bowling Green Township claiming Big O has had a contract there for a long time. This is not true. Then the conversation continues and they don't service BG township because they don't have enough customers in the area. Jack at Rumpke indicates that they would come here for contracted work for quantity customers. Jack's boss then relays that a bid has been put into BG Township. really?
